All I have been hearing lately is that there are no African-American senators (besides Obama) and that Blago should appoint one in Illinois. Another thing I keep hearing is that the Republican party is an old white man's party with no diversity. I am sick of the MSM twist on these two items! When is the MSM (main stream media) ever going to learn one simple thing - the problem is not that there are no black senators in Congress, the problem is that there are no LIBERAL DEMOCRAT black senators in Congress!! Just like the NAACP and NOW, they do not promote conservative blacks or women, just LIBERAL blacks and women! Where were they when Sarah Palin was running for VP? Where were they when Michael Steele or Lynn Swann (two black Republican candidates) were running for the Senate?? I just want to hear the truth!!! These groups do not want equality for all blacks or all women, just liberal ones!
If the Governor wants to promote a black person to the vacant Senate seat and party does not matter, why doesn't a black Republican get the nod to run or be appointed? Let's not kid ourselves on this one issue, which is not just a black or white issue, it is a Liberal black vs Conservative black issue. If the MSM really wants a black person in the Senate, they can always get behind and support Micahel Steele, Lynn Swan, or another black Republican to run in 2010 and beyond!
