Tomorow will be the start of a new era for this country, for the better or worse. We have heard all the plattitudes for the last two years about "Bush lied, people died", or how the failed last eight years of this administration has caused the financial crisis, on how deregulation has contributed to all our ills, or how we are so hated across the world now more than ever, on how we torture and abuse detainees, and so on. Like it or not, Barack Obama will be our President tomorrow and we must show him the same respect for the office that the left has not shown for the current President. I say this because we are one country, not two that the Democrats would like us to believe we are.
Before we get to Obama, I want to set the facts straight on George W. Bush.
Fact one: Bush did not lie and people did not die becasue of it. Every member of Congress had some of the intelligence the President had leading up to the Iraq invasion (some, but not all). The majority of Congress voted for the give the President the authority to go to war, including Clinton, Kerry, etc. Obama was still in the State Senate voting "present" on most big issues.
Fact two: For 52 months we had positive job growth in this country, we had record unemployment at 4.5%, record stock market at 14,000 points, and so on. The economy started to go downhill when the housing bubble burst - the same bubble that Senator McCain and the Bush administration warned the Democratic controlled Congress in 2006, one in which Chris Dodd and Barney Frank said that there was no problem. In fact, you could trace the problem back to the 1979 CRA under Jimmy Carter, but we won't go there.
Fact three: It was too much regulation that caused the financial mess, not deregulation. Banks were forced to give out big loans to people who could not afford them.
Fact four: Since Bush was elected, we now have right-leaning American-friendly leaders in Germany and France.. We have soveriegn governments in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have a nuclear-free Libya (one that we did not even know was nuclear in the first place). North Korea is better under control than it was before they tricked Clinton.
Fact five: We do not torture prisoners. Harshly interrogate-yes, torture-no! We have only waterboarded three times, THREE TIMES, and one was on the mastermond behind 9/11 that led to the prevention of another attack. Beside, waterboarding is not torture. Do people lose limbs when waterboarded - NO! Does it cause great pain that lasts for a long time - NO! Does it cause deformities or disfigurations - NO! Has anyone ever died from it - NO! Is it uncomfortable - YES! These butchers we pick up on the battlefield do not care about our rights, our liberties, our very lives. They want to kill us just becasue we ARE us! The answer would be just to kill everyone on the battlefield, but we don't.
Now for President Barack Hussein Obama. He has literally bought himself the presidency with money and the Main Steam Media behind him. He is by far the mosr radical liberal this country has ever elected, even ran for the office. But, he had a good campaign and the media hid all his faults from the average citizen or just swept them under the rug. Need I mention Rhezko, Ayers, Blagojevich, Rev Wright, Rev Flagler, Genther, Holder, Richardson, and voting "present" over one hundred times when it came to big issues. How about his radical abortion stands, where a woman can have an abortion right up until childbirth, or even after a child is born from a botched abortion! How about his anti-2nd ammendment views, his pro-union views, his beholden to teachers unions, steel unions, etc. What about his pacifistic world mentality, his tax-the-rich and spread-the-wealth philosophy? What about his class warfare games he plays? Or about his big government mentality, the one that says only more governement programs can save the country! He even wants to stop all drilling for oil, so we rely on our enemies for energy (which is what will happen. I am all for alternative fuels, but they are at least two decades away). Last, he wants to "talk" to our enemies, give them credibility and weaken ours.
Obama is your typical Democrat liberal, He wants half of this country to not have to pay taxes and the other half to. He wants to keep down his base so they never have to reach up. He wants them to stay on welfare programs so they don't have to work and so they continually keep the Democrats in power. He wants the "rich" to pay for everything, never mind the fact that it is the rich that do all of the hiring and buying that keeps the economy going.
BUT DESPITE ALL THIS, HE IS OUR NEW PRESIDENT AND SO WE MUST RESPECT THE OFFICE, IF NOT THE IDEALS THE MAN HAS. WE WILL NOT HATE HIM, CALL HIM NAMES, WISH ILL WILL ON HIM LIKE THE LEFT HAS DONE FOR GEORGE W BUSH. WE WILL PRAISE HIM WHEN HE DOES RIGHT, AND WE WILL CRITICIZE HIM WHEN HE DOES WRONG. AND WE WILL STAND UP WHEN THE COUNTRY NEEDS US TO ON ISSUES LIKE TAXES, ALTERNATIVE ENERGY, AND FREE-MARKET SYSTEMS. ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES, SO WE ON THE RIGHT RESPECT THAT. I ONLY PRAY THAT HE DOES NOT DAMAGE THIS COUNTRY TOO MUCH IN THE NEXT FOUR YEARS SO THAT WE MAY PUT A TRUE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN BACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE TO DEFEND FREEDOM, FREE-MARKETS, AND TRULY PROTECT US FROM THE EVILS THAT ARE OUT THERE.
